2013 graduation thesis collection from Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s Bachelor of Fashion Design & Technology program.
Knead- A slow fashion collection inspired by simple living.
Ethical and environmentally conscious, this collection is designed with consideration for the whole life cycle of the garments from the farming of the fibres, to dyeing, to the end wear and use. The materials for each piece are sourced from within North America and hand-dyed using local plants and food waste such as coffee grounds, onion skins, and pomegranate rinds. All cotton garments are organically farmed and all wool garments come from ethically raised rare-breed Canadian sheep and showcase the natural colours. The garments are versatile, functional, and designed and constructed to last with the hope they will be kept, shared, passed down, and enjoy a long life.
